They are made with Yuzen washi (traditional Japanese paper) from Kyoto. This high-quality paper is made of long thick fibers from the mulberry tree giving it strength and durability. The intricate and beautiful pattern designs are based on traditional Kimono fabric. Each sheet of paper is silk-screened by hand one color at a time with pigment-based ink making them vibrant and fade-resistant.

We hand fold each earring with precision here in the USA, and coat them with non-toxic, acid-free matte varnish making them water-resistant. They are finished with 18K gold plated hooks to be hypoallergenic.

Due to their handcrafted nature, each pair of earrings is slightly different from the others, making them unique and one of a kind.
